• Baby Wipes/Wet Wipes

  These can clog sewage systems and cause backups. They are made of non-biodegradable materials that do not break down easily in water but remain in the pipework and disrupt the natural flow of wastewater.

• Paper/Kitchen Towels

  Paper towels are another common item that should never be flushed down the toilet. They are too thick and absorbent to break down easily, and they can also clog pipes, leading to backups and unpleasant smells.

• Feminine hygiene products

  Tampons, pads and liners are absorbent products that can cause significant issues with sewage systems. Like other materials that don’t break down, they will cause serious blockages, which may lead to damaged pipework. 

• Nappies
